Have you noticed that every time you enter
a store these
days, you are bombarded by cute little
teddy bears and conversation
hearts? Well, to be honest,
I think it is disgraceful
how this world has slandered the
name of love, not
to mention it's Author! It makes me sick
to my stomach to think
of the many ways the words, "I love
you" are used and
abused. There is no word in the human
language that is more
misrepresented and misused.
"God so LOVED...that
He GAVE..." Does that sound like
the version of "love"
that the world so casually passes
around to suit whatever
fancy or whim that pleases it? Read
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
and ask yourself, "Is this how MY love is
presented to the world?
Do they look at me and see God's
love or the nicely
wrapped serpent kind of love that selfishly
seeks only what it
can get out of the other person?" This
Valentines Day, instead
of giving those you love candy
and cards, give them
YOU. Serve them, comfort them,
encourage them, give
them the Father's love and the Son's
sacrifice. Show them
the LOVE that God intended.
